Water Tracker Bottle Tutorial

Confessions from a girl that needs all the motivation in the world to get and stay healthy!  How is it my fault that soda taste so good?  Anyway…if you need some motivation to keep your water intake on track also, this is the tutorial for you.  If you make a bottle using our file, be sure to send us a picture.  We would love to see your creations too!

Let’s get started!  First thing…..

SUPPLY LIST

Silhouette Machine (some other cutters will work too)

Water Intake File

Opaque water bottle (so you can see the water level through it)

Rubbing Alcohol and a paper towel

Permanent Vinyl (your color of choice)

Tweezers

Low Tack Transfer Tape (I like low tack transfer tape for this.)

Squeegee or old credit card

*If you already know how to make the decal and just need help with the application, skip to step 5.

Now let’s get to making!

  1.  Download and open the water tracker file.
  2. Measure the water bottle where the tracker will go.  Re-size the file to fit your bottle.
  3. Arrange your decal design on your mat to prepare to cut.
  4. Place vinyl on the mat, press Load Mat.
  5. Edit your cut settings.   (this  will vary depending on many factors: how old the blade  is, how old your mat is, etc.  Trial and error is best to find your perfect settings.)
  6. Click cut!
  7. Unload and weed the unwanted vinyl.
  8. Apply transfer tape to the weeded decal.
  9. Using a squeegee or old credit card, rub down extremely well.
  10. Clean your water bottle using rubbing alcohol and a paper towel.
  11. Turn decal over and remove backing.  If the decal starts to come up with the back, gently place it back down and repeat step 9.
  12. Re-apply backing leaving a small opening to make lining up the decal easier on the water bottle.
  13. Line up the decal on the water bottle using the opening you left to get it straight.
  14. Once aligned, press down in the middle to attach to the cup.
  15. Work from inside out working one side down at a time.  Repeat on the other side of the decal.
  16. When the backing is completely removed and the decal is applied, use a squeegee to apply the decal extremely well to the bottle.
  17. Gently, remove transfer tape.  If the decal starts to lift, gently put the transfer tape back down and repeat step 12.
  18. Fill up your bottle and use the motivation from the bottle to stay on track for a healthier you!

*OPTIONAL:  For extra motivation, apply a monogram or motivational quote to the other side of the bottle.
